Heat, limited visibility, restricted spaces: deployment in underground transportation facilities subjects fire service personnel to extreme conditions. Only someone who is familiar with these dangers can successfully appraise his own safety and react accordingly in an emergency.
Taking the right action in such difficult circumstances is a matter of life and death – both for the rescuers and the people being rescued. Comprehensive classroom instruction that is as practical as possible and consistent, regular training are essential prerequisites for guaranteeing the maximum level of safety of all those involved.
The International Fire Academy ifa specialises in the training and advanced training of fire brigades for deployment in underground transportation facilities. It provides instruction in specific know-how and converts this into experience by means of realistic training course units. This results in fewer material and economic losses as well as more lives being saved when there is a fire.
